# Performance Issues

Performance issues in Atomyx Submit usually appear as slow uploads, slow preflight, delayed previews, or sluggish portal behaviour.

### Slow uploads

#### Typical symptoms

* moderate files take much longer than expected to upload
* large uploads are unreliable
* different customers see very different upload times

#### What to check

* network bandwidth
* server upload handling
* file size and complexity
* whether the upload strategy is chunked or single-request

#### How to resolve it

* optimise large PDF files before upload where possible
* use chunked upload strategies for large files
* reduce the impact of failed long uploads by supporting retries or resumable behaviour
* review infrastructure limits and request handling

### Long preflight times

#### Typical symptoms

* quick checks are no longer quick
* full preflight takes too long for expected workflow volume
* timing is inconsistent between files

#### What to check

* whether the upload-stage profile has become too complex
* whether the processing service is under load
* whether certain customer files are unusually complex

#### How to resolve it

* simplify the quick-check profile
* move expensive checks into the production stage
* monitor processing volume against subscription and capacity
* test using representative production files

### Slow portal loading

#### Typical symptoms

* the interface takes too long to load
* previews appear slowly
* interactions feel delayed

#### What to check

* page assets and front-end payload size
* unnecessary API calls on first load
* preview generation speed
* browser and network conditions

#### How to resolve it

* optimise front-end assets
* defer non-essential work
* review preview generation performance
* test on current browser versions and realistic customer devices

### Practical guidance

Performance tuning is easiest when the workflow is kept clear:

* fast upload-stage checks
* deeper asynchronous production checks
* lightweight customer interactions
* strong monitoring around the slowest parts of the flow
