# Upload

This is where the customer provides their artwork file and gets the first level of feedback about whether the file is suitable for the intended product.

### What happens during upload

When a customer uploads a file, Atomyx Submit:

* accepts the file through the portal interface
* validates basic requirements such as file type and size
* triggers a quick preflight check
* generates a preview for customer review

This gives the customer immediate feedback without waiting for the full production process.

### What the quick check should cover

The upload-stage check should be lightweight and fast.

Typical checks include:

* file dimensions
* image resolution
* spot colour presence
* font embedding
* page count

The goal is not to perform every possible production check at this stage. It is to catch the most obvious issues early and keep the experience responsive.

### Why this stage matters

A strong upload stage helps:

* prevent unsuitable files entering the workflow
* give customers confidence that the file has been understood correctly
* reduce unnecessary back-and-forth later
* create the basis for preview, adjustment, and proofing

### Best practice

Keep the upload-stage preflight focused on fast feedback.

More expensive checks and production corrections should usually happen later in the full production preflight stage.
